For the first time in two decades, Fort Worth is preparing to spray for disease-carrying mosquitoes as Dallas County prepares an aerial assault.

Based on recommendations from the Tarrant County Public Health, the city announced Tuesday that it will begin target ground spraying on Wednesday night to combat the epidemic of West Nile virus.

There have been two deaths linked to West Nile virus in Tarrant County, with a total of 171 human cases reported.

There have been 10 deaths linked to West Nile virus in Dallas County.
