A small group of cattle producers has initiated a campaign called “Ranchers for Romney,” intending to mobilize their fellow farmers and livestock producers through the final weeks of the presidential campaign.
A source associated with the group says they believe this election is one of the most critical in recent memory, and that Romney best represents the interests of farmers, ranchers and other agribusinesses.
The group plans to promote their program nationally through advertising in trade media and word of mouth, with their focus on individual, grassroots efforts. Organizers first are asking farmers, ranchers, allied industry and all stakeholders in agriculture to join them by donating what they can to the Romney campaign. Then they ask supporters to reach out to at least 20 friends, neighbors and relatives, encouraging them to do the same.
