House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) are expected to continue to lead House Republicans in 2013 after winning reelection.

The pair were projected to win reelection shortly after polls closed in their respective states, according to The Associated Press.

Boehner, who took over as leader of the House following major GOP gains in 2010, ran uncontested in his Ohio district. Meanwhile, Cantor opened up a substantial lead over his opponent, attorney Wayne Powell.

Powell received a bit of star power to boost his campaign, however, as actress Madeleine Stowe threw her support behind the challenger, citing his support for abortion rights. The Golden Globe nominee help fundraise for Powell and appeared at rallies to support his candidacy.
