26.2 miles – the distance thousands athletes ran April 21 during the Boston Marathon. Of the 36 thousand competing was Heath Larson, a Wichita, Kan., man representing Team Beef, a second year veteran to the race.
“There’s 500,000 spectators on the course, and there’s just nothing like it,” explained Larson in an interview with KSN News.
While Larson wasn’t at the marathon last year, the tragic events that occurred inspired him to qualify for the 2014 race.
“I was kind of heartbroken when that all happened and decided that I really wanted to qualify and go back for this year,” he said.
The rancher’s son has put countless hours and miles into training – something he fuels with his love of beef. His decision to run for Team Beef was to tribute his upbringing.
