Winter is about to hit with a vengeance next Monday, with forecasters reporting that an Arctic blast will bring the coldest air of the season to the northern Rockies, the northern Plains, and the Midwest before it sweeps the east.
Like last year’s Polar Vortex, chilly air will come sweeping down out of Canada bringing with it temperatures as low as the 10s and 20s to the northern Plains.
Snow is also expected in the West and the Midwest.
Minneapolis and Chicago may find highs that are up to 20 degrees below normal. The two great Midwestern cities will see their first subfreezing temps by midweek next week.
