Livestock producers in Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota are concerned about last Friday’s federal court ruling that put grey wolves back under federal protection as an endangered species.

The ruling will prevent livestock owners from hunting and trapping wolves, including those that are harming their livestock. Chuck Quirmbach of Wisconsin Public Radio spoke with Eric Koens, a cattle rancher in Rusk County, Wis., who said that many producers don’t think non-lethal methods of controlling wolves are effective.
