Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) questioned the legality of regulatory amendments to existing sanctions on Cuba that were published Thursday by the U.S. Departments of Treasury and Commerce as part of Obama’s plan to re-establish diplomatic relations with Cuba.

Rubio said the amendments constituted “a windfall for the Castro regime that will be used to fund its repression against Cubans, as well as its activities against U.S. national interests in Latin America and beyond.”
