Another new poll out today shows Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich in a dead heat in Florida, less than a week before voters go to the polls.
Romney leads Gingrich, 36%-34%, among likely GOP voters in the CNN/Time/ORC International poll released this afternoon. Those numbers are identical to the findings of a Quinnipiac University poll released this morning.
The Florida primary is Tuesday, Jan. 31, and is the biggest prize to date in the GOP race, with 50 delegates at stake. The primary is winner-take-all.
Time magazine’s Alex Altman notes in his story that Romney leads Gingrich “among female and white voters, voters over 50, and those with a college degree.” Gingrich does the best among “men, Tea Party voters, self-identified conservatives” and born-again Christians.
