Now that the Republican Congress has obliterated the lines
between the two parties, it’s time to get on to more important
things. But are there any more items on the docket more
important than secure borders between the drug and human
smugglers south of the border and the ranchers and American
Citizens attempting to guard their property and families on this
side? Or the right of any individual to either buy health
insurance or decline it? Or the right to own weapons to protect
his property and family but denied the available bullets to line
up in the muzzles?

In the Gospel of John, he begins with “In the beginning was the
Word…” And it follows with stunning truth. According to the
Congressional “scriptures,” there seems to be no “truth” to even
the beginning. There will be no amnesty! No, Sir! We’ll not
approve a budget for Department of Homeland Security unless the
President’s executive overreach in amnesty for a million or so
illegal immigrants is addressed. That should have included an
“amen.” Instead, as with most of the other flimsy and empty
rhetoric coming from the RINO department, it’s just “Oh, we were
just kidding.” It’s not just the RINO’s, however, there’s a long
history of starting strong and ending at first base. Remember
Senator Joe Lieberman denouncing Bill Clinton in the worst
condemnation heard on the senate floor and then turning right
around and refusing to vote to impeach him? I guess we aren’t
supposed to remember history, are we?

In the upcoming weeks we will be hearing much concerning Obama’s
selection for Attorney General, Loretta Lynch. You will be
hearing the same rhetoric over again. There will likely be many
who oppose her on authentic grounds of being another renegade as
dangerous as her predecessor – but in the end there will be
approval and lots of hugs and well-wishes. They could just spare
us the agony and expense of the hearings and issue all of Obama’s
leftwingers green stamps. Remember the hearings for Robert Bork
and how the Democrats deprived us of a genuinely qualified judge?
And how it went with Sotomayer and Kagan? The Dem’s in power
prevailed to a man and the Rep’s caved like quicksand. The
template for any future hope of dismantling Obamacare, saving our
Constitution and curtailing illegal immigration is looking more
like a pretzel as the days pass. The conservatives elected to
both houses in the last election need all the support they can
get – they continue to be outgunned by the spineless who care
more about their pomp and pride than representing their
constituents.

In the Senate Environmental & Public Works Committee hearing,
Senator Jeff Sessions excoriates Gina McCarthy, head of the EPA,
who is requesting a six percent increase in EPA’s budget, about
her ignorance of climate change figures (of which there is no
evidence) and could answer none of his questions. Senator
Sessions reminded her that the inflation rate is only two percent
and yet she is requesting six, three times that rate. She
countered that that was President Obama’s proposal. Of course,
that should have been quite evident from the start. The EPA is
Obama’s private weapon against all Americans, to regulate
everything in our lives including the air we breathe. No more
coal mines – never mind the millions of job losses; no more wood-
burning stoves – you folks out in the hinterland can burn cow
chips! Well, until that gets regulated, too. There was another
figure in history that comes to mind regarding a small man with
an immense chip: Attila the Hun.

The point of all this is that it is becoming increasingly
evident that Congress has sunk into irrelevance. Everything that
Obama and the Democrats have conjured up in the middle of the
night meets with passionate rhetoric and then appeasement. It
appears that even if the Republicans could muster a two thirds
majority to override a presidential veto, there would be more
than enough liberal Republicans jumping ship to invalidate the
concensus. We desperately need a conservative in the White
House … and a true, honest two party system.
