Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin told in an interview Wednesday that he did not believe the U.S. military should be involved in nation building. asked Walker about the situation in Iraq: “Do you think that a Shiite-dominated government in Baghdad can reassert control over the Sunni areas that ISIS now controls?”

“The bottom line for us, my belief is that the American military shouldn’t be involved in nation-building,” Walker said. “We should leave that up to the people in no matter what countries or what regions we’re in.

“But I do think we need to find allies, be they Sunni or Shia, regardless, allies that want to help us defeat the radical forms of Islamic terrorism, the radical forms of Islam, that are leading to these actions, that are leading to these terrorist acts,” he said.
