Human rights issue….
GOP presidential contender Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said at the Family Research Council Action’s Values Voters Summit on Friday in Washington, D.C., that all life should be protected, because it comes from God.
“In a world where life is increasingly not valued, where people are summarily discarded, America must stand for the belief that all life is worthy of protection, because all life comes from God,” said Rubio.
Rubio addressed a wide array of topics, including tax reform, immigration reform and reducing the cost of higher education, but he closed with what he said was an “important point,” because it transcends politics.
“There’s one more important point that needs to be made, one that transcends policy and politics altogether,” Rubio said. “No candidate for president can claim to stand on the side of our people if they do not believe that every person has a right to exist, and that’s why the issue of right to live is more than political or policy related.
“It is not a political issue,” Rubio said. “It is a human rights issue.
“It is a definitional issue about what kind of country we want to be,” Rubio said. “In a world where life is increasingly not valued, where people are summarily discarded, America must stand for the belief that all life is worthy of protection because all life comes from God.”
Rubio also said that by 2020 he hopes late-term abortion and funding for Planned Parenthood would not be a reality.
