It’s true. Things are heating up a bit for the Illinois primary this Tuesday.
But folks in the GOP are concerned that “heat” is a relative term. And that plenty of Republican voters remain lukewarm, at best, about their presidential possibilities.
State Sen. Kirk Dillard says he can see it in voters’ eyes as he campaigns for re-election at DuPage County commuter stations early in the morning.
“The apathy is unbelievable,” Dillard told me Thursday. “Voters are tuned out, not enthused and still asking me, ‘When’s the election?’. . . There seems to be an unbelievable amount of lethargy, apathy and disgust.”
So who is Dillard’s pick in the presidential sweepstakes? Romney, Santorum, Gingrich or Paul?
