The U.S. average retail price of regular gasoline increased 3.8 cents this week to reach $3.87 per gallon, 31 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time. The Rocky Mountain regional average price increased more than 13 cents for the third consecutive week to reach $3.62 per gallon, but remains the lowest in the Nation, as it has been since the beginning of the year. The West Coast price saw the smallest increase, up less than 2 cents to $4.23 per gallon. The Midwest price increased about 3 cents to reach $3.84 per gallon, and the Gulf Coast increased about 5 cents to $3.70 per gallon. Rounding out the regions, the East Coast price moved up about four cents to reach $3.81 per gallon.
The national average diesel fuel price increased about two cents to $4.14 per gallon, 24 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time.
