That Mitt Romney has closed the gap in polling among likely voters in Pennsylvania’s April 24 primary is disastrous news for Butler County native Rick Santorum, a Valley political insider says.

Get out of the Republican presidential campaign now, Yvonne Morgan would tell the former U.S. senator if she could.

“I would tell Mr. Santorum, if he asked, to drop out before the Pennsylvania primary because this loss will surely be the end of his political career,” said Morgan, Union County Republican Committee chairwoman. “Of course, Rick doesn’t listen to my advice or that of a growing number of Republican leaders.”
