PRESIDENTIAL candidate Michele Bachmann’s scathing attacks on Rick Perry may be hurting the front-runner for the 2012 Republican nomination, and raising questions about her own judgment, but they are also helping another of her rivals — Mitt Romney.

“The net result of everything she is doing is making it more likely that Romney will be the nominee,” Matt Mackowiak, a Republican strategist who worked on George W Bush’s 2004 campaign and who has donated to Perry. Bachmann scored points against Perry — boosting Romney.
